Sylvia Herrera

Harriet Beecher Stowe once said, "In the ranks of life the human heart yearns for the beautiful; and the beautiful things that God makes are his gift to all alike."

I have the same philosophy. Day after day in the newspapers and on television, we hear about the ugly side of life. When bombarded on every side by disaster and catastrophe, it is easy to forget that we can choose to look for the beauty that is still around us.

Primarily a watercolorist, my work is recognized by bright, layered pure colors, influenced by my travels to tropical and southwestern locations.

It is my desire to convey joy, hope, love and appreciation for aesthetic pleasure through my work.

I enjoy painting at least one day a week with other accomplished artists for the feedback I receive and to hone my skills. I also enjoy my art sales, judging art contests, and promoting art to the public.

Meetin' in Maui

Orange Blossoms

Beside the Golden River
Watercolor

After the rain, the Wailua River was flowing. The bananas growing beside the river leaned over as if watching the water flow by.

It's Paradise

The colors in Bird of Paradise are so beautiful! No wonder that it's called Paradise.
