Grace English

I paint for the pure pleasure that watercolor brings me.

I enjoy coming up with my own composition by adding, rearranging or manipulating elements in PhotoShop. I've had fun painting a variety of subjects but have found my true passion in painting plants, especially the challenging flora of the Sonoran Desert.

I took my first watercolor class in the summer of 2004. From there, I spent a year studying under local portrait artist, Lisa Larrabee. She gave me confidence and a sound foundation for my new experiences in the challenging medium of watercolor.

I am a juried member of the Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild.

Singing for Supper

These are carnivorous plants. I thought they were humorous with their fat tummies and the way they seemed to be singing opera.
